Menacing Microbes

Grades 6 - 12

In this curricular unit (three lesson plans), students learn how communities prevent and respond to outbreaks of infectious diseases. After analyzing a historical case study, students select a disease, create a community action plan, and participate in a simulation where they mobilize each other’s action plans. The unit culminates with students creating infographics to teach people about public health and measures to prevent outbreaks.
