Climate Change Challenge

Grades 6 - 12

In this curricular unit (three lesson plans), students examine causes and impacts of climate change on Earth’s atmosphere and oceans, as well as mitigation and adaptation strategies. After organizing, analyzing, and visualizing climate data, students perform research to create a Climate Change Challenge Pledge with strategies for mitigating personal contributions to climate change. The unit wraps with students presenting their work to an authentic audience, with the goal of persuading them to sign their pledge.
