Teachers in one North Carolina county this week are going door to door to get parents more involved in their children’s education. As one teacher notes, parent involvement is directly connected to a child’s success in the classroom. “Our goal is to get parents to become advocates for themselves as well as their children,” she said, adding that it is imperative that parents know their child’s school calendar, busing schedule and problem-solving models used in the classroom.
