Sustainability Action Plans
Schools and districts nationwide engage in a year-long, collaborative process to gather input and feedback across their communities, shaping a set of multi-year sustainability goals. The outcome of this work is a Sustainability Action Plan, personally tailored and aligned with their broader strategic plan.
Today, individuals and teams across each of the schools and districts featured below are using their Sustainability Action Plan to guide action, strengthen cross-department alignment, and deepen a shared commitment to operating more sustainably over time.
Boise School District
Boise School District, located in Boise, Idaho, serves approximately 22,000 students. A GSNN partner for five years, the district is advancing districtwide sustainability efforts that support system-wide alignment and long-term impact.
Zuni Public School District
Zuni Public School District, located in Zuni, New Mexico, serves approximately 1,200 students. A GSNN partner for over eight years, the district has been advancing initiatives centered on culture, climate, and community-driven sustainability.
Boulder Valley School District
Boulder Valley School District, located in Boulder Valley, Colorado, serves approximately 31,000 students. A GSNN partner for six years, the district is advancing districtwide sustainability efforts that support long-term environmental and operational goals.
Fayette County Public Schools
Fayette County Public Schools, located in Fayette County, Kentucky, serves approximately 42,000 students. A GSNN partner for four years, the district is advancing districtwide sustainability efforts aligned with its broader strategic priorities.
